Flowering Beauty

Besides its visual beauty, this tree holds a special place in my heart……as a child growing up, these trees lined the backyard of my grandparents house.

When standing in the driveway, the yard seemed like it went on forever….and down over the hill was a beautiful wall - that took your breath away. He would play with us for hours in that yard, climbing those trees and playing hide and seek. But the one thing we always remembered was one Sunday each spring when they were in full bloom, he would take a picture of "his girls" (grand-daughters and great grand-daughters) standing underneath those beautiful trees. He always made us feel so special!

The spring he passed, those trees seemed to be more beautiful than ever! His girls lined up and together we took that picture for what we would have never guessed would be the last time.

When I came to the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland for the first time, it was spring and the grounds were incredible……but something caught my eye, along the backyard was a line of beautiful flowering crab apple trees. It was then that I knew the House was a very special and I was in the right place.
